Cho Lay Mar

Ms. Cho Lay Mar is a dedicated humanitarian practitioner, educator, and peacebuilding specialist with over a decade of experience serving conflict-affected communities across Myanmar. Recognized for her deep contextual knowledge and her commitment to advancing social cohesion, resilience, and community-led development, she has become a trusted advisor to local networks, civil society organizations, and frontline educators working in some of the most challenging environments.

She is the Founder of Bluebonnet Social Impact, an initiative created to amplify community voices, strengthen grassroots leadership, and support evidence-based solutions for education, protection, and peacebuilding in urban, rural and crisis-affected areas. Through this platform, she leads efforts to empower women, youth, refugees, and stateless populations by connecting local expertise with global opportunities for learning, advocacy, and partnership.

Career

Professionally, Ms. Cho Lay Mar’s work spans trauma-informed education, non-formal learning
pathways, gender equality, safeguarding, GBV risk mitigation, PSEAH compliance, policy
development, and community mobilization. She has designed and facilitated numerous capacity-
building programs for teachers, volunteer networks, and community leaders, ensuring that
interventions are conflict-sensitive, culturally grounded, and driven by local ownership. Her
leadership has been instrumental in strengthening support systems in hard-to-reach areas affected
by conflict, displacement, and natural disasters.

Goals

With a vision rooted in dignity, equity, and peace, Ms. Cho Lay Mar continues to champion
inclusive and people-centered approaches to humanitarian and development work. Her mission is
to build stronger, more resilient communities by promoting education, safeguarding human
